First off, the setting and plot is pretty unique. I mean sure, dystopian future stories have been done to death. However, I've found that these stories usually present a dark, grimy future. Mirror's Edge on the other hand offers a dichotomy. The same, security-obsessed government is presented, but it is draped in a shiny post-modernist utopia. The visuals in the game are stunning. You look out upon a glistening and fully-realized city. Contrast is presented in a way so that you as a "runner" (a parkour/free-running messenger) can easily recognize "hot points" in the environment. Objects you can vault from, or scale. It's real intuitive, and I'm still in awe of the game's presentation.
The music of the game is all done by ambient electronic composer Magnus Birgersson aka Solar Fields. This too is a highlight of the game. The main theme "Still Alive" (and no, not the Johnathon Coulton cult classic) is reprised throughout, with the full version with vocals from the lovely Lisa Miskovsky playing as the credits roll.
All in all, I brief affair, but a bit of replay value due to time trial challenges. I had a very fun time with the game. I think that the visuals and audio will be emblazoned on my memory for a long while to come.

The mind and body are too powerful things. The body might be strong, but if you destroy the spirit, there is nothing left but a empty shell, one that a evil being like myself can fill with hate and suffering, the perfect tool of destruction
